Cheshire Cycleway Route 70: The Stanley Arms Hotel lies on the most eastern and highest part of this 176 mile route, being at 1393 feet above sea level. To see the full route, elevation and gradients involved click here.

Middlewood Way: This less strenuous route 10-mile (16-km); traffic-free route, flat terrain] follows the former Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple railway line through beautiful countryside and historic mill towns. In its heyday the line carried silk, coal and cotton as well as passengers.
